Box Top Wednesdays

During the 2016-2017, Home and School will continue to collect Box Tops!!! Our Box Top initiative is a huge success for Berkeley! Students compete is a friendly contest during the Fall/Winter and again in the Winter/Spring! The class with the most box tops collected will participate in a pizza party!

Medication in the Nurse's Office: End of the Year Close Out

Please make arrangements o pick up medications on the last day of school, Thursday, June 22, 2017. The nursing staff has been instructed to discard any medication that is not picked up prior to the end of the school year. 

 

If you would like for asthma inhalers/nebulizer tubings and Epipens to be sent home in your child's book bag, you must provide the school a signed note to the attention of Nurse Mercedes Gonzalez.

Summer Announcements
  • Scholastic Summer Reading 2017
    The Berkeley Elementary School is excited to conclude the 2016-2017 school year and jump start the 2017-2018 school year. Family meetings were conducted during the last week of school to discuss the summer reading project that must be completed by Wednesday, September 13, 2017

    Berkeley students are required to complete both part one and part two of the reading project. Students are required to complete the summer reading journal based on their Scholastic book packet. The goal of the journal is to help students make connections to literature. The first part of the reading project is worth 20% of the final project grade. The following are required readings at designated levels:

    Grade 3: Nonfiction book packet

    Grade 4: Fiction book packet

    Grade 5: STEM book packet (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math)

     

    If your child has not received the summer reading packet please contact the school to make arrangements to pick up the summer reading materials. ( (973) 680-8540
